Avalanche Studios Group is a Swedish video game developer and publisher founded in 2003. The studio focuses on massive open-world experiences built around player freedom and emergent gameplay, and has operated for more than two decades as an independent AAA developer.

Its creative output spans several established titles. Just Cause is its flagship open-world franchise; Mad Max and Rage 2 are open-world games developed in partnership with those respective properties. On the live-service side, theHunter: Call of the Wild is an acclaimed hunting simulator with millions of players engaged globally, extended by Call of the Wild: The Angler, a fishing spin-off. Work is underpinned by the proprietary Apex Engine, developed in-house to power large, dynamic open worlds and live-service games.

The group operates from three locations: Stockholm, Sweden (headquarters), Malmö, Sweden, and Liverpool, United Kingdom, with hybrid work environments across the studios. Technical work covers open-world game development, AAA development, simulation games, live-service games and proprietary engine development.
