REFORM Alliance is a criminal justice reform organisation founded in 2019 to transform probation and parole practices in the United States. The organisation grew out of the #FreeMeek movement and is backed by artists and entertainers including Meek Mill and Jay-Z, alongside philanthropists and social justice advocates. Its stated aim is to move the system away from purely punitive approaches towards fairness, accountability and rehabilitation - helping people re-enter society while making families and communities safer.
The organisation operates through two parallel structures. Under its 501(c)(3) entity it runs charitable initiatives and programmes, including re-entry pathways to work and wellbeing. Under its 501(c)(4) entity it conducts direct advocacy, working on a bipartisan basis with experts, system leaders, advocates and policymakers to change laws, systems and culture around probation and parole.
