PETA Asia

Animal rights organisation running undercover investigations, media and public education campaigns, celebrity partnerships, legislative work and animal rescue across Asia.

PETA Asia is an animal rights organisation working across Asia, with a presence in Thailand, to end animal suffering. Its methods are unusually media-intensive for an advocacy group: undercover investigations supply the evidence, and public education campaigns, media campaigns and celebrity partnerships convert that evidence into public pressure. Celebrity-amplified messaging reaches millions, and the organisation also pursues legislative change and conducts direct animal rescue.

For creative professionals, the work is primarily campaign-led. Staff and collaborators produce investigation footage, advocacy video, print and digital materials, and stunts and events designed for press pickup. Partnerships with celebrities and news outlets are a core distribution channel, so writing, art direction, editing and pitching skills are applied to material intended to travel widely and quickly.

The organisation describes itself as mission-driven, guided by the principle that animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any way. It works in a grassroots activism tradition, mobilising supporters alongside its investigative and media output, and treats collaboration with public figures and journalists as central to amplifying its message.
