GBH produces signature PBS programs including FRONTLINE, NOVA and MASTERPIECE, plus local news, television channels and radio stations across the United States.

GBH is a multiplatform creator for public media in America, producing signature PBS programming and a local news service across television, radio, and online. Its output spans investigative documentary, drama, science, history and antiques formats, distributed through broadcast channels, YouTube and social media.

The organisation produces five signature PBS programs: FRONTLINE (investigative documentary), MASTERPIECE (drama), ANTIQUES ROADSHOW (antiques appraisal), NOVA (science documentary) and AMERICAN EXPERIENCE (history documentary). Alongside these national series, the GBH Local News Service runs newsroom operations and neighbourhood news coverage, and the GBH Boston Public Library Studio provides a public-facing studio space in Boston.

GBH operates television channels including GBH 2, GBH 44, WORLD and Create, together with kids and family brands, and the radio stations GBH 89.7 and CRB Classical 99.5. Work spans multiplatform content production, television and radio broadcasting, digital and online video, social media, journalism and public media education content.
